You will not understand how to live the Christian life
God’s word has a solution to any problem that you might face in this life. If you don’t read and discover these truths, you will not find these solutions.
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
You will become nervous and fearful
You will begin to think about all the “what ifs” of life. What if I can’t pay my bills? What if my husband leaves me? What if I get cancer?
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
You will become spiritually malnourished
Getting into God’s word in the mornings will give you the energy that you need to face the day. If you allow your mind to only feed on the bad news of television and radio, you will become spiritually malnourished.
Job 23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
You will be easily deceived and confused
As you get into God’s word and begin to understand His precepts, you will begin to understand the false ways of the world. You will not try to justify sin by your own opinions, but you will begin to see the consequences of sin through His word.
Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
Psalms 119:104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
You will make wrong choices in life and be vulnerable to God’s judgment
When you fail to read your Bible, you will not have the understanding to make the right choices for your life.
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
I so need to apply this personally. Thank you Mrs. Lewis you appreciated.
