How Pastors’ Wives Tear Down Their Husbands

1. Critique his work. Whatever he does, it’s rarely done right and is never enough.
2. Give helpful insight. In the ministry, a pastor’s wife sometimes is quick to give her two cents about who her husband should straighten out. If he doesn’t do it according to her timetable, she threatens him that if he doesn’t act, she will.
3. Complicate his work by failing to do your own. Pastors’ wives get so busy overseeing their husband’s work, that she might neglect her own work.
4. Fail to say, “I’m sorry.” You think! “Since it’s no big thing, there is no need to apologize…he’ll get over it.”
5. Belittle him for the ways he fails to meet your high expectations.
• Criticize the way he folded the towels.
• Scold him for leaving his socks on the floor.
• Criticize him for the way he manages the children.
• Publicly humiliate him to friends or on Facebook.
6. Sabotage his efforts through your actions. If you don’t like his decisions, you find a loophole to go around his decision. If your husband is not around, you allow your children to wear things you know your husband does not approve of. By doing this, you’re basically telling your children, “Your father is old school…what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him!”
7. Speak before you think. Once something is said, it can never be unsaid. Here is the acrostic word THINK to memorize. Is it? True- Helpful- Inspiring-Necessary-Kind
